The Great Miami Lakes Historical Scavenger Hunt is back!

How much do we residents know about the history of the community we live in? Not much I can tell you that! That’s why I came up with the idea of an historical scavenger hunt as a fun way to help us all learn more about our town. The Great Miami Lakes Historical Scavenger Hunt will take place on Saturday, March 8th, 2014, at the parking lot behind Shula’s Hotel on Main Street in Miami Lakes. Sign-In will begin at 9am; The Hunt will kick off at 10am, and the award ceremony will be at 2:00pm.

Since last year the adults were eager to participate, then this year all ages can participate in the fun! The categories will be:

Individuals (middle and high school students)

                                          Family/Groups  (of four)

                                          Senior Citizens / Adults

The first participant from each category to finish The Hunt by turning in a completed map, which means that their map will have a stamp from each location they discovered, will receive a grand prize. Participants must be present to claim their prize.

                 SO DON'T WAIT!

So, gather up your friends and/or family to make a team, or go solo. To register go to the REGISTRATION TAB and it will direct you to EVENTBRITE 's registration page (minors, please ask your parents to sign you up.)  Once you register there, you will be able to print a ticket to bring as proof of registration the day of the event. Post it on your refrigerator so you don’t forget! Students that register as individuals are required to bring either a school ID or latest report card in order to confirm your correct age. No exceptions!

The First 100 participants to register will receive a free gift at check-in!

Now, you have lots of work to do before The Hunt. I suggest you go to the HINTS TAB for hints and advise that I have posted there for you and follow our twitter account @MLhistoryhunt to receive updates and hints for the Hunt. You do not have to know the history of Miami Lakes to participate, but it just might come in handy if you do a little research! Check out the the PRIZES TAB to see what awaits you!

I wish you the best of luck!

Your friend,

PS: This event is free of charge thanks to Commissioner Esteban Bovo, Jr., The Town of Miami Lakes, and all of my fantastic sponsors and volunteers! Check out the SPONSOR'S TAB.
